Knee Pain facts



Many Indians of different age groups suffer from knee pain. It can be caused by various factors such as an injury, arthritis or another condition. The pain can differ in location and intensity for everyone, depending on the source of the problem.

Mechanical problems: Mechanical problems can result from various causes such as an injury, overuse or normal wear and tear. They might involve: Loose piece of cartilage or bone in the joint (loose bodies), kneecap (patella) dislocation.

 

Knee pain can be mild, moderate, or severe, depending on the cause and the extent of the injury or condition. Some cases of knee pain can worsen over time and cause more problems for the joint and the person’s mobility if they are not treated. There are various options for treating knee pain, depending on how bad the pain and the damage are.


Knee pain treatment options include:


1st step: Restriction, lifestyle change and daily exercise.

2nd step: Medication + step 1

4th step: Surgery
